Did you Know?

  • 93% of fire-related deaths occur once the fire has progressed beyond the early stages.
  • 95% of property damage occurs once the fire has progressed beyond the early stages.
  • Proper use of a portable fire extinguisher, and properly installed smoke detectors significantly increase your chance to react to a fire in the initial early stages.

Safe Home Strategies & Solutions was founded in 2006 when the managing partners recognized the need for home safety education. As new homeowners we realized that although we enjoyed our new homes, they were missing essential safety products and plans needed to be prepared for a fire, power outage, CO detection, etc.

We realized that we were not as “prepared” as we should be for some of life’s most common disasters.

With backgrounds in business startup, general contracting/production, and sales management, our leadership team is committed to providing the best quality home safety products and services in a convenient one-stop shop!

Facts:

Fire Extinguisher Facts

  • 94% of the time a portable fire extinguisher is used; it puts out the fire –typically within the initial two minutes.
  • It is important to have an extinguisher located in a quickly accessible location in at least every level of your home.  Garages and sheds are also great places to keep a quality fire extinguisher.
  • Fires involving vehicles are on the rise.  In 2002, fire departments in the USA and Canada responded to over 300,000 vehicle fires.

Carbon Monoxide Facts:

  • Carbon Monoxide (CO) is the number one cause of poisoning deaths in the United States.
  • According to the Journal of the American Medical Association, “there are approximately 2,100 unintentional deaths from carbon monoxide every year in the U.S. and the use of CO alarms could potentially prevent many of these fatalities.”
  • A carbon monoxide alarm or detector should be centrally located outside of each separate sleeping area in the immediate vicinity of the bedrooms.
  • Where sleeping areas are separated and the audibility of the alarm or detector to occupants within each sleeping area could be impaired, more than one unit could be needed.

First Aid Kit Facts

  • A first aid kit is useless unless you know how to use it!  We have also included an excellent resource manual from industry leading Good Housekeeping that covers a variety of emergency situations and how to react.  Our first aid kits are filled with excellent components and can be ordered in different sizes.  A quality first aid kit should be kept in your home, car, business, RV and boat, and in any place you may have an emergency.

Flashlight Facts

  • A flashlight with extra batteries is a necessity for potential emergencies.  Most households need several located in multiple areas.
